Opening of Gordon Buchanan Recreation Centre April 4th
Gordon Buchanan, owner of Buchanan Lumber, officially presented the High Prairie and District Sports Complex Society with a $300,000 cheque on April 24, 2007.
When asked why he made such a large contribution, Buchanan says to help get the job done.
“We go back in this community a long ways. I wanted to do my part in contributing towards something we need really bad,” says Buchanan.

Community celebrates official sod turning
June 17 was a special day in High Prairie’s history as the official sod turning was held for the Gordon Buchanan Recreation Centre.
