Scholarships

Education is crucial for the success of our youth and flourishing of our communities. Buchanan Lumber offers five different bursaries each year for students wishing to pursue post-secondary education or continue their studies at a post-secondary institution.

  1. Buchanan Family Bursary - $2000.00
    $1000.00 – Buchanan Family
    $1000.00 – Northern Alberta Development Council

  2. Buchanan Lumber Ltd. Bursary - $1000.00
    $500.00 – Buchanan Lumber Ltd.
    $500.00 – Northern Alberta Development Council

  3. Buchanan Lumber Ltd. Bursary - $1000.00
    $500.00 – Buchanan Lumber Ltd.
    $500.00 – Northern Alberta Development Council

  4. Buchanan Employee Club Bursary - $1000.00
    $500.00 – Buchanan Employee Club
    $500.00 – Northern Alberta Development Council

  5. Buchanan Employee Club Bursary - $1000.00

Criteria
  • Three year residency in Alberta
  • Enrollment in a recognized post-secondary institution (University, College or Technical School)
  • Financial need
  • Commitment to live and work in Northern Alberta for one year or forfeit NADC portion of the bursary
  • Reasonably good prospects for employment in Northern Alberta after graduationStudents must be attending at minimum a two-year program
  • Applicants or applicants’ families must maintain a household in High Prairie or surrounding district
